An experimental British steam turbine locomotive known as the "Turbomotive", specifically British Railways (BR) number 46202. It was unique because it used a steam turbine instead of conventional reciprocating pistons, which resulted in smoother running and the elimination of "hammer blow" on the tracks. The "Turbomotive" operated primarily on the heavy express route between London Euston and Liverpool, proving relatively successful in service. It was later rebuilt as a conventional piston-driven locomotive in 1949 and renamed "Princess Anne".
