An elevated view of the Railway Technical Centre yard on 14 September 1989. In the background Derby Etches Park depot can be seen, while the RTC complex shows the Engineering Development Unit (EDU) in the upper far right, the Vehicles Lab (tracks 7/8) in the middle and in the right foreground the side of the Engineering Test Hall. Various bits are seen in the yard, possible the most interesting is 'Peak' Class 45/1 No. 45136 one of half a dozen set aside for RTC use (which never happened) and were later stored at Eggington Junction before scrap. In the yard are a pair of new O&K Yeoman hoppers and Mk4 DVT 82202.

Hermione is a 32-gun Concorde-class frigate fitted for 12-pounder guns, completed in Rochefort by the Asselin organisation in 2014. It is a reproduction of the 1779 Hermione, which achieved fame by ferrying General La Fayette to the United States in 1780 to allow him to rejoin the American side in the American Revolutionary War.
