The SBB Ce 6/8 locomotives were a group of original articulated semi-wagon electric locomotives built on behalf of the Swiss Federal Railways for heavy goods operation on the Gotthard line. By virtue of their original appearance with long forepart that resembled the snout of crocodiles they were nicknamed with this term.
