‘Royal Scot’ class 4-6-0 no. 46154 'The Hussar'. hauling the ‘Potteries Express’ as it departs northwards from platform 2 at Leicester Midland, on 9th May 1959. This special train took a convoluted route from London Paddington to Stoke on Trent and return. A British Rail Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) train, possibly a Class 109 or similar lightweight unit, parked on the middle road.
